Apitherapy Certification Course Disclaimer and Enrollment Agreement

2026–2027 Cohort
This agreement is between the enrolling student and Diggin’ Livin’ Farm and Apiaries LLC, doing business as Diggin’ Livin’ Farm & Apiaries and Diggin’ Livin’.
Our approach to apitherapy begins with respect for the honeybee, the landscapes that sustain the hive, and the responsibilities that come with working with hive products. We want students to understand what the course provides, what is expected for certification, and the responsibilities that come with applying this knowledge.
For legal purposes, this course is an educational certification program. It does not provide a government-issued healthcare license or replace individualized medical care.
Please read the following before enrolling.
1. Course Overview
The Apitherapy Certification Course is an online educational program taught by Joy and Eric McEwen, with additional guest instruction.
The course includes a pre-module and 12 core modules covering the foundations and history of apitherapy, natural beekeeping, honey, propolis, pollen, bee bread, royal jelly, beeswax, fermentation and medicine-making, bee venom therapy, live-bee application methods, safety and contraindications, case-based learning, protocol development, and professional practice.
Enrollment includes more than 75 video lectures, required and suggested readings, worksheets, homework, quizzes and knowledge checks, case studies, scheduled live calls and recordings, a course community, and downloadable resources.
The required book, purchased separately, is Health and the Honey Bee by Charles Mraz. We will also be reviewing Honey Sapiens, Bees Don’t Get Arthritis, What the Honeybees Taught Me, and Apitherapy 101 Clinical Form. We encourage students to purchase these books as well, but they are not required.
2. Course Dates and Participation
The 2026–2027 cohort opens November 13, 2026, with the welcome and cohort call on November 19, 2026. The coursework completion target is March 31, 2027.
Module releases, live calls, breaks, and office hours follow the Student Syllabus.
Students should plan to attend at least 8 of the 12 module live calls. Attendance exemptions are readily available when needed, and missed calls should be watched by recording.
Office hours and community discussions are provided to support course learning and are educational rather than individual consulting appointments.
3. Certification Requirements
To successfully complete the program, students must work through all 12 core modules and complete the required readings, assignments, worksheets, quizzes or knowledge checks, writing assignment, case-based work, and final examination.
The cumulative final examination contains 100 or more questions and requires a score of 80% or higher. Students are allowed retakes or resubmissions when needed.
Coursework should be completed by March 31, 2027, although extensions are readily available by arrangement.
Students who successfully complete the program receive a Certificate of Completion from Diggin’ Livin’ Farm & Apiaries / Apitherapy Institute.
4. AANWC & AANWP Credentials
The Apitherapy Certification Course is created and offered by Diggin’ Livin’ Farm & Apiaries through our apitherapy education branch, Apitherapy Institute.
Apitherapy Institute is recognized as an accredited education provider for this program through the American Association of Natural Wellness Coaches (AANWC) and the American Association of Natural Wellness Practitioners (AANWP).
Graduates who successfully complete the course are eligible to apply for board certification as an Apitherapy Coach through AANWC/ANWCB, an Apitherapy Practitioner through AANWP/ANWPB, or both.
Completion of this course provides the apitherapy education required for these credentialing pathways; no additional apitherapy training program is required by AANWC or AANWP.
Students choosing the Apitherapy Practitioner pathway through Apitherapy Institute have an additional emphasis on beekeeping as part of their preparation. Practitioner candidates must be beekeepers or actively participating in the keeping of bees and will complete an additional writing assignment and an expanded natural beekeeping section on the final examination.
Application for either outside credential is optional. AANWC and AANWP credentialing and annual renewal fees are separate from course tuition.
5. Educational & Medical Disclaimer
Apitherapy draws from traditional practice, practitioner experience, and a growing body of scientific research. Throughout the course, students will learn about these different sources of knowledge and the evidence supporting various apitherapy applications.
For legal purposes, course information is provided for educational purposes and should not be considered individualized medical diagnosis, prescription, or emergency care.
Terms such as medicine, medicinal, healing, therapy, treatment, practitioner, and apitherapy are used in the context of the field being studied and do not grant students authority outside of their professional scope.
Students should seek appropriate healthcare guidance for personal medical decisions, particularly when medical conditions, medications, allergies, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or changes to prescribed treatment are involved.
6. Hive Products & Bee Venom
Hive products are biologically active substances, and individual responses vary. The course includes education about their composition, sourcing, preparation, uses, contraindications, and safety. The curriculum also includes bee venom therapy, live-bee handling, test stings, microstings, and other application methods.
Bee stings can cause pain, swelling, allergic reactions, and potentially life-threatening anaphylaxis. Anyone with a known or suspected bee-venom allergy or history of a serious sting reaction should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before intentional venom exposure.
Course instruction does not constitute individual medical clearance for bee venom exposure. Students are responsible for following appropriate safety procedures and understanding contraindications and adverse reactions. If a severe allergic reaction is suspected, emergency medical services should be contacted immediately.
7. Applying Your Education
Students and graduates are responsible for how they apply the knowledge and skills learned through this program.
We encourage graduates to represent their training and credentials accurately and to apply their education responsibly, with appropriate attention to safety, consent, and the laws and professional requirements that apply to their work.
8. Tuition, Payment Plans & Refunds
Tuition and payment options are presented at checkout.
Students choosing a payment plan agree to complete the scheduled payments. If a payment is missed, we will send up to five notifications. Course access may be revoked if payment remains outstanding after the fifth notification.
Students may request a tuition refund within five days after the course begins. Students enrolling after November 13 have five days from their enrollment date to request a refund. After the applicable deadline, tuition is non-refundable except where otherwise required by law.
9. Community, Privacy & Recordings
Students are expected to participate respectfully and to protect the privacy of fellow students and individuals discussed in case studies. Please do not share client information or another person’s private information without permission.
Live course calls are recorded for educational replay within Diggin’ Livin’ Apitherapy courses hosted on Kajabi. Students may not share or redistribute these recordings outside the course.
Enrollment does not give Diggin’ Livin’ permission to use a student’s name, image, voice, testimonial, or personal story for public advertising or promotion. Separate permission is required.
10. Course Materials
Course lectures, recordings, written materials, presentations, assignments, photographs, graphics, and other original educational content belong to Diggin’ Livin’ Farm & Apiaries, Apitherapy Institute, or their respective creators unless otherwise stated.
Students and graduates may, of course, apply what they learn within their own lawful personal or professional work.
11. Acknowledgment
By completing enrollment, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to read this agreement and the Student Syllabus and understand:
- The educational nature and requirements of the program
- The tuition, payment, and refund terms
- That certification does not constitute a government-issued healthcare license
- That hive products, live bees, and bee venom carry potential risks
- That you are responsible for applying your education and credentials within the laws and professional scope applicable to you
- The privacy, recording, community, and course-material expectations described above
